BUCS Indoors 201925/10/19

On 23rd November 2019, SHHRC hosted a round of the University Indoor Rowing Series 2019 (BUCS Indoors) at the English Institute in Sheffield. With over 240 entries from six university teams, the day was a huge success! All relay entry fees were donated to our chosen charity for this year, Danny Porter Foundation, and along with our cake stall we managed to raise a grand total of £391.45!

Some excellent performances from both our seniors and novices - we had 4 novice women and 7 novice men compete in their first Indoors, with great results and efforts all round. We also acheived 2nd overall in the Mixed Relay, just missing out to Warwick.

novice winter regatta19/10/19

Last weekend, our novices took on University of Sheffield RC and City of Sheffield RC in a friendly regatta to give them a taste of racing. All our crews showed huge improvements with the highlight of the day being the women gaining a strong lead in the final... until a blade unfortunately popped out. Although this was obviously disappointing, the girls still had very high spirits and came off the water even more motivated to train harder in preparation for future races.

The boys also put up a strong fight with both crews showing determination and despite their efforts not quite winning them the medal this time, they showed good sportsmanship and enjoyed the experience all the same. All crews showed great potential and we look forward to seeing them back in action at White Rose Head in a few weeks time!
