As part of Team Hallam, we are a competitive university club accepting all abilities - so whether you’ve rowed before or have no experience on the water, you’re very welcome to join us!
At first glance our training schedule may seem pretty intense, but with Hallam, the more you put in, the more you’ll get out! Not all sessions are compulsory, however, if you’re looking to represent Hallam competitively, then commitment, willingness to learn and effort are what our captains are looking for – so be sure to do the best you can!
WHERE ARE WE BASED?
Our water based training takes place at Damflask Reservoir – a beautiful setting to train in. We share this space with University of Sheffield RC and City of Sheffield RC. Our land-based training takes place at Pearsons Gym, Collegiate Campus.
Racing is one of the most valuable experiences in rowing - we compete in a number of competitions throughout the year, including head races and regattas. We also compete at BUCS Indoors – a 2km erg test; which we successfully hosted in 2014.
As hard as we work in the gym or on the water… we like to play hard too! The camaraderie within the club is very strong and the social scene is an excellent place to develop friendships and bond with teammates – a key aspect of boosting performance and enhancing your university experience.
